JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)
 
He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. For me, the best fitting to be regarded as the Philippine National Hero is Dr. Jose Rizal, because he displayed unconditional love for his country by offering his life for the freedom of Filipinoes under the Spanish rule. He fought for reforms through his writings instead of through a "Violent Revolution".

For me, the Philippine National Hero should still be Dr. Jose Rizal because he is intelligent, influential, brave and educated man. He awakened Filipinos' awareness through his works and writings. He used pen and not a sword to fight against Spanish colonial rule for the sake of our countrymen.

because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. Instead he used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos ...he fought for freedom in a silent but powerful way. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays. Jose Rizal was an ideal candidate, favourable to the American occupiers since he was dead, and non-violent - both favourable qualities which, if emulated by Filipinos, would not threaten the American rule or change the status quo of the occuppiers of Philippine islands. Others present him as a man of contradictions,He pivots between fear and hope, between faith and despair a soul that dreads the revolution although deep down desires it.

It should be Bonifacio because he fought to achieve freedom for the Philippines. The revolution was well-planned. We will not be free from the colonial rule if he did not put it in action.

For me,Dr Jose Rizal is the best suitable to be a Philippine National Hero because he is a brave man. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays and articles rather than through the use of force or aggression. He was humble, aggressive for reforms through his writings instead of through a revolution. He used his intelligence, talents and skills in a more peaceful way rather than the aggressive way.

I don't agree that Dr. Jose Rizal should still the Phil. National Hero.. I chose Bonifacio. Because of Bonifacio he organized the secret Society the KKK (Kataas-taasang, kagalang galang katipunan ng mga anak ng Bayan) which rise in armed revolt against the spanish colonial power and to win freedom and independence for the country. without the revolution of Andres Bonifacio there would be no red sun with 8 shining yellow rays in the Philippine National Flag. katipunan untied the provinces and spread the message of independence and freedom.

Pen is mightier than a sword. He is rational for using his writings to impugn the inhumane of Spaniards. In spite of knowing that he will be convicted or killed because of his writings, he still continue his writings to open the minds of his fellow Filipinos. Unfortunately, he was caught, suffered and punished by the spaniards and called him Erehe and Filibustero. Nevertheless, his unselfishness remain that he sacrifice himself to gain the democracy of the Filipinos. He also wants to educate the youth rather than teaching them how to use guns and swords. He promotes a diplomatic settlement that’s why he deserved to be our national hero.

I choose Andress bonifacio as our National Hero.Like Rizal,Bonifacio at first advocated peaceful means towards reform but he realized that freedom and independence could be won only through force.Bonifacio was intellectual impassioned by the need to change in our system not merely by writing but also by acting on it.Because of his actual participation in KKK, bonifacio was able to organized thousand katipuneros in the revolution that ended the regime of Spanish rule and it led towards our independence.

No problem cannot be solved by calmly conversation. Dr. Jose Rizal proved it so, He uses his talent in writing many novels and poems instead of using violence. He fought the Spaniards by peaceful way with accordance with his advocate that "Pen is mightier than the sword", Rizal didn't want to waste lives of people in order to liberate the Philippines. The title of being our Philippine National Hero is still in Rizal's honor.

Because being a hero is not about who is using a weapon to achieve freedom but then, a hero is the one who fights from the colonist by using his knowledge or intelligence in writing. Pro, i agree that Dr. Jose Rizal should be our National hero. A true hero doesn't necessarily mean that you should form a revolution and shed blood to express your love for the country. What Rizal did was a heroic act in forms of writing. He opened the minds of millions of Filipinos that we are being enslaved by the colonizers. Through that we gained our freedom.

I'm not offending you or what. Yes. Dr. Jose P. Rizal deserves to be our national hero, as pertaining to what you've said, he is the epitome of the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword." He wakes up Filipino's nationalism so we can fight for our independence. And so he did. But Andres Bonifacio is the most deserving. Because even though he is fighting by revolution, it helped alot. Without the revolution, which the Katipunan espoused, there would be no red sun with eight shining yellow rays in the Philippine national flag.

Si Dr. Jose Rizal ang dapat lang na maging pambansang bayani. Kasi naman katulad ng isang super hero, gusto nya, ligtas at walang masasaktan na mga tao, yun ang aim nya. Dapat si Emilio Aguinaldo ang maging NATIONAL HERO. Tignan na lamang natin ang botohan, kung saan nanging Presidente sya. Hindi si Emilio Aguinaldo ang napili kundi si Emilio dahil na rin sa laki ng kanyang impluwensya. At kung susumahin, pinagcombine si Rizal at Bonifacio sa kanya. Sya ay matalino at palaban (base on EL PRESIDENTE).

I agree that bonifacio should be our national hero for he faced the dangers in the field unlike rizal whose participation is on the pen and papers. Yes, Rizal is considered as the ignitor for many that read his writings but bonifacio led the hundreds to make actions that could realistically can make big blows against the spaniards. Bonifacio did the most sacrifice compared to anyone during that time and that made me think that Andres Bonifacio should be hailed as our national hero.

He was able to use his intelligence to set forth his beliefs and opinions clearly. As such, he was able to show his countrymen and the world what the Filipino could be capable of. By becoming a novelist, engineer, writer etc Rizal showed that there was no limit to the ability of the Filipino.

I don't agree in your opinion. I think Andres Bonifacio should be our nation hero. wanna know why? simply because Andres Bonifacio is the face of the masses. Rizal because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. He used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos unlike Bonifacio and Aguinaldo who wanted a bloody revolution. He dedicated his life without hesitation for his countrymen.

I agree on what I've read .. Jose Rizal is more deserving to be our national hero. Well? base on his nobles he just use it as a instrument to awakened filipinos of what spaniard did to use. :)
