Curfew for Minors: Advantageous or Disadvantageous?

A CURFEW IS A LAW enacted by a local or state government that restricts certain people from being in public places at specified times of the day.
 
Many cities and towns have a curfew law in place to prevent teenagers from being out at certain times, typically spanning the late hours of the night or school hours during the day. Any teenager caught out after curfew can face a fine or even jail time, depending upon the specific laws of the town.
 
Possible reasons to believe that curfew is advantageous:
 
·         Youth crime is a major and growing problem, often involving both drugs and violence. Imposing youth curfews can help to solve these problems, as they keep young people off the street, and therefore out of trouble, and prevent them from congregating in the hours of darkness.
 
·         The use of curfews on minors can help to protect vulnerable children for not all parents are responsible and inevitably their children suffer, both from crime and in accidents, and are likely to fall into bad habits. Society should ensure that such neglected children are returned home safely and that their parents are made to face up to their errands.
 
·         There is no good reason for children to be out unaccompanied late at night, so a curfew is not really a restriction upon their liberty. They would be better off at home doing schoolwork and interacting with the rest of their families.
 
·         Child curfews are a form of zero tolerance policing, showing that a community will not allow an atmosphere of lawlessness to develop. Child curfews can help to change a negative youth culture in which challenging the law is seen as desirable and gang membership an aspiration.
 
Possible reasons to believe that curfew is disadvantageous:
 
·         What if they have to stay out late for a school related activity?
 
·         What if they have part-time jobs, for example being jeepney conductors? Many jobs requires staying until night to earn money for their living.
 
·         It is unethical to criminalize their simple presence in a public space.
 
·         Once charged even for flimsy reasons, they will have criminal record which might bring harms to their opportunities in employment and so increases the social deprivation and desperation which breed crime.

we are teens and having a curfew on us is good cause that law is for us. It helps us to have time management in our self like for example doing some group projects or presentations we know that we have curfew so we should do it or finish it as soon as possible if there's a vacant time while were on school we should do it so that our time is not wasted. Through doing that we cannot be in hurry to finish our projects or presentation in other houses of our groupmates and going home late and be arrested by some bceo or police. Curfew also help teens to be not stay too long outside doing nothing and just mingle with their barkada's, boyfriends and other peoples. Through curfew law some youth crime can be prevented and this is an important things for the youth because as Rizal said "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng Bayan" so our government should also be focus on the youth. There are some youth which is pasaway or hard-headed and through that curfew law they can be discipline. There's nothing for the youth or teens to not accept or obey the curfew law because it is only for their own good.

Advantage - the curfew helps the minors from untoward incident like gambling,drinking,loitering,drugs and others. It helps the minors to study their lesson, to help their parent do the household chores and also for their safety

Curfew is an advantage most especially on some youth because they can avoid accidents and those people who will influence them to do cruel things such as taking drugs, smoking, gang rape, stealing, etc. It also an advantage because they can bond with their families every meal time and do their responsibilties, for example doing their assignments, reviewing, etc.

It is wonderful idea for teens to have curfews because it teaches them to be responsible and also considerate of other people around them. Teens may not like the idea of a curfew in the beginning and they may fight with parents about it. Parents need to remember that kids will eventually thank you for the curfew when they become a young adult cause then they will finally understand why they had a curfew. . Don't feel like bad parents despite how much the teens yell at you during the teen years. Teens just don't understand what parents do or say the things they do when they are young. Teens often feel like that parents take away their freedom. Most teens don't understand that teens don't need much freedom since they are irresponsile and not an adult yet. Most teens get into trouble if they have too much freedom to do anything they want to do. Teens shouldn't be treated like adults when they aren't a very responsible person. In a way curfew does help prepares them for the future by helping them to be prepared to be able to handle being a responsible young adult once when they reach that age.

It is advantageous for the minor implementing curfew because it can help minors to make their normal routine as they go home early, through these they can study their home works and it will also serve as a good practice to be a well discipline person to their parents. Curfew also avoid getting trouble of the minors because many crimes are happening at night. Curfew for the minors help them to complete their rest and sleep every night instead of being out and doing nonsense activity all night long.

advantages; Having curfew in minors is ok because if there no curfew lots of minors will become alcohol addicts and some of theme got sick for getting sleep not in time.And some student got lower grades in school for being late everyday and lastly if there is an accident that a minors belong their parents doesn't know it because they doesn't know what their child does and they doesn't where it is.

advantage: since there is a higher rate of crimes committed by minors due to the fact that they cannot be imprisoned, then the curfew may help lessen crimes at night that may possibly be committed by the minor. Also, there will be lesser crimes committed towards minors during the time of the curfew where rape and other crimes are of higher risk compared to daytime.

Para sa akin bilang mag aaral at bilang isang bata nararapat lang na ipatupad ang Curfew For Minors dahil dito maiiwasan natin na masangkot ang mga minor de edad sa mga kaguluhan o anu mang aksidenteng maaaring mangyari tuwing hating gabi. Ako ay sumasang ayon na ito ay maipatupad dahil Ito ay makatutulong sa atin sa maraming bagay gaya nga ng sabi ko mas bababa o mas maiiwasan natin ang kaguluhan at aksidente.Ang Pulis ay hindi naman perpekto para Magawa ng tama ang lahat ng bagay, ang importante lang ay gawin nila ang kanilang gampanin ng maayos .
