Yes! Rizal should be our national hero instead of Bonifacio. Well if we talk about National Hero issue we should not be only on the things that they have done for our country but the things they have done for the sake of the people and the whole country. Rizal was thinking on making the Filipinos think of the same, act the same that they have common traditions, culture, and common ideals or goals to make them united. Rizal did his things smoothly & without blood shed, but what was the effect on the Filipinos? It was a big inspiration to all the Filipinos and even to Bonifacio. Its not using guns or swords, nor killing that we can judge who really is the national hero but it's how the person affects the whole Filipino race that time.

I prefer Jose Rizal to be our national hero . a hero does not need to be using swords or any weapon its enough to write books about how cruel, unfair and rude colonizers are ,besides he is a genius that will make him more admirable and unbeatable hero . until this date still the brains making our world more advance in terms of science . technology and influence . so in short we need a hero who is dignified , intelligent , firm and could fight our country with all the confidence because well renounce ability and brilliant brains .

Dr.Jose Rizal is the Philippine National Hero for me. He is not only intellectual but brave man as well who fought for us against the Spaniards. He contributed lots and even sacrifice his own life because of his love to our country and his countrymen.

I think, Dr. Jose Rizal was the deserving as a Philippine National Hero. Because in the age of 35 many Filipino are inspired of him and he gained a big respect to the Filipino. He could also stand his writings and he was known as a Great Malayan Race. Dr. Jose Rizal was a great engineer, doctor, writer and biologist and so on. Although he is on other country he could never forget to write a poems, novel and all the writing matters that can rely to the Philippines, One of that is Amor Patrio which means the love for the country.

It is in the Philippine History that if were talking about our national hero, it is no other than Dr. Jose Rizal. Without minding why him, instead of Andres Bonifacio or Emilio Aguinaldo whom they are purely a Filipino. But for me, I choose Dr. Jose Rizal as the Philippine National Hero because he was first to called the Philippines as his fatherland even though he is not purely a Filipino because of his great-grand father, a Chinese mestizo. He is more devoted to his countrymen through his novels and writings.

Sorry but I beg to disagree that Dr. Jose Rizal should be the National Hero of the Philippines. For me, it was President Aguinaldo should be our national hero. Siya mismo yung namuno at nagtagumpay talaga ito to the point na siya pa ang naging unang presidente. Siya rin ang unang nagwagayway ng Philippine Flag.

The Philippine national hero should be Emilio Aguinaldo. Why? because he led Philippine forces first against Spain in the latter part of the Philippine Revolution and then in the Spanish-American War, and finally against the United States during the Philippine-American War. He contributed much to the country. Compared with Rizal just concentrated on writing.

I beg to disagree. For me, Bonifacio should be our national hero since he is the one who really fought for our country, risking his own life. But he was not given any recognition for all his sacrifices in our country.

I disagree, I prefer to have Bonifacio as the national hero. Heroism means, brain with actions, just like superman or batman, they are involved in the story. I understand Rizal has a brilliant mind but not all can understand his language/thoughts and writings specially native or lay people who were not given the chance to have proper education. People will always find justification through actions.

For me, Jose Rizal should be our number one Philippine National Hero because he died for our country, that he called our Nation his Fatherland because he loves our country. Aside from that, he wrote novels like Noli Me Tangere and El Flibusterismo that made the filipinos opened their eyes and minds to awaken our nationalism in our country. I regard Jose P. Rizal as our true National Hero. Though his method of expressing his remorse and way of revolting to Spanish oppression is different from the usual bloody revolution, he has inspired other people and ignited in them the feeling of nationalism. Through his works and writings, he has expressed his thoughts without resorting to violence. Through his works and commitment, he had opened the eyes of other important names in Philippine History to the cruelty of the Spaniards which gave birth to other revolutionary groups like the Katipunan. Like other heroes, he also offered his life for the sake of our freedom.

I disagree. Yes, Jose Rizal is a very well-deserved man to be on that place. However, I must stand up to the rights of Andres Bonifacio for that title. I'm very much aware that Bonifacio and Rizal are the two main nominees for being the "National Hero" as they served the country with much importance during the time of Spaniards. Rizal has written two great novels and some articles and such to persuade and show what really was happening during those times. But in the ending of El Filibusterismo, Rizal neglected the idea of Revolution and such. Though, he is much aware that it was their only chance. As for Bonifacio, he fought with a knife and gun on his hands for the country. And we knew that the revolution has been successful because of these. Blood has been shed and sacrifices have been made. But the freedom that we are experiencing right now is all because of that. So, we actually own our freedom for non-other than Bonifacio himself.

Hindi po ako sumasangayon. Dahil para sakin, marapat lamang na si Andres Bonifacio ang itanghal na Pambansang Bayani. Sapagkat, ang kanyang mga kontribusyon sa ating bansa ay talaga namang kahanga-hanga. Isa na dito ang pagkakatatag ng katipunan na s'yang naging sandigan at lakas ng naturang himagsikan. At sa kanyang katapangan at pagiging makabayan ay natamo natin ang kalayaan at kapayaan na ating inaasam. Hindi man sang-ayon ang ilan sa paraan ng dahas, hindi natin maipagkakaila na ito ang naging daan para sa ating kalayaan.

If were talking about Filipino there is a man who's blowing our mind that tell us to open our eyes and mind for everything happening on our land. And for that is Pepe. Pepe we all know his sacrifices just to tell people "Hey come on wake up, were idiot in their mind let's change that" something like that. Therefore for me Pepe is the no.1. For Bonifacio and Aguinaldo yeah we all know the fact that they did, they gave freedom for this country but for me being a hero not only talks about freedom of the country but for me its something that it remember by people what you've done and what you've contribute not only for people from the past, not only the children from the past but even in our generation right ??.. :)

Many people admired Dr.Jose Rizal as our Philippine National Hero because of his novels and writing are the one that opened the eyes and awakened the nationalism of Filipino.But among Rizal,Aguinaldo and Bonifacio, the Philippine National Hero should be Andres Bonifacio because he wanted for an ultimate freedom for the Philippines and be separated from the authorities of Spain and that is through revolution.It is true that bonifacio got the idea of freedom from Rizal but it is Bonifacio who put it into action.ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS OF IDEAS.He believed that we should have total independence and our own government.

For me, I choose for Andres Bonifacio as the Philippine National Hero because he fight for our freedom.Though Jose Rizal is a brave man and a novels who write the El Filibusterismo and Noli Me tangere where the mind of Filipinos was awakened. And Rizal use his pen and paper to advocated our freedom in a diplomatic way to speak out Spanish Indiffreneces. But Bonifacio advocated a bloody revolution. Rizal was considered the National Hero because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. Instead he used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos. He dedicated his life for his countrymen without hesitation.
