JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)
 
He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. I respect you own point of view but is it acceptable also that Rizal's writings are used to defend our own country. He did not use any violence just to defend the country, he protected it by means of his good traits and intelligence.

I respect your opinion about who should be the Philippine National hero. For me, Jose Rizal is a brave and intelligent man. He never used any weapons just to defend and protect our country against Spaniards. He symbolizes the characteristics of a Filipino men as a kind, pure, and brave men without hurting anybody just to protect himself or the country.

Indeed, leadership is a considerable factor in choosing our National hero. But come to think of it, Rizal is a leader too. In fact, most of the groups that he led became successful just like the propaganda group and other group that inspires more group to fight for their freedom. The main difference between Aguinaldo and Rizal, is that Rizal worked by his words through writing and it is very effective not just like the way Aguinaldo led his group.

I respect your opinion but Jose Rizal is still the Philippine national hero for me. Because of his intelligence, he became an inspiration to the youth for his writings and travels. He even defended our country for using his own writings as a weapon for the Spaniards.

Andres Bonifacio, because he is a man of action than words. He is the person who has seen more courage to fight for the country from the Spanish. A man who is willing to die just to vindicate the country's independence.

I am against in your opinion kasi hindi naman talaga tumakas si Rizal. He moved out away from the country kasi may goal siya and he has his reasons. For him, ang pag-alis niya ay para sa kaligtasan ng kanyang pamilya as well as his co-countrymen. Hindi lang naman siya nakatunganga. That is the act of sacrifice. Lahat naman ng naging bayani kalayaan ang hangad para sa bansa even the normal people na andun nakikipagsapalaran sa time na yun. Siya nga ang ama at pinuno pero hindi ibig sabihin nun na wala ring ginawa yung iba. They have different responsibilities and they also have different way of fighting spaniards ang kaibahan lang si Rizal.. He aspire the mind of the people. Siya ang naging inspiration ng mga Pilipino as well as foreign people.

Lahat ng Pilipino sa panahon na yun ay dugo't pawis na nakipaglaban sa mga Espanyol. Alam nila na once they enter the revolution, it will end up losing their heart. Lahat din naman ng bayani deserve nila ang pagiging Hero ng Bansa. They chose Rizal kahit na hindi siya katulad kina Bonifacio na nakikipagpatayan ng harapan sa mga Kastila kasi kakaiba ang ginawa niya, ginamit niya ang kakayanan niya, ang talento niya para ma inspire ang mga tao.

You need to learn how to appreciate the sacrifices that was done by many people including Rizal during that time. You can easily say that because you didn't know what were the sacrifices he had been struggling by that time. Isn't it ironic that by a simple PEN and PAPER, he was already claimed to be our national hero by the Americans? Because they know that Rizal is worth it and he deserve to be one.

I don't think that it is because of Bonifacio's courage. It was Rizal who motivated the revolutionists, headed by Andres Bonifacio, to fight against the Spaniards, so I would say that it is because of Rizal after all.

Don't get me wrong for I think that everyone like Bonifacio, Rizal and others had fought by actions. To write something that shows malicious issues and stories about the Spanish authorities is an action that was chosen by Rizal without caring for what will be its effect to him. He cared enough for his countrymen that he didn't want others to be hurt and instead, he was willing to sacrifice his own life just for them.

Yes, he became the first president of the Philippines but it doesn't equate to being the national hero. Being hero doesn't mean you have to be professional or educated but it is the determination of a person to stand to what he believes is right for the sake of the majority. And besides, some or our heroes died because of him so I disagree that he should be the Philippine national hero.

If that is your only bases for being the national hero, then I think everyone can be a national hero. For me, being a national hero is "to die for the sake of the nation or country" and I don't think that Aguinaldo had done that. There are lots of names who are more deserving than him.

I don't think that Andres Bonifacio should be the national hero despite the fact that he fought with the use of sword not many people know that Bonifacio lost all of his 29 battles.That is why Rizal should be the national hero because it's quite amazing that he just used his intelligence and pen to fight with the Spaniards.

For me,Dr.Jose Rizal because true hero not only means killing someone's life just to protect your love ones nor the country. He protected the Filipinos by the used of his pen and knowledge. He express his thoughts in order to inform other country for the freedom that we need.
