JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)
 
He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. It should be Rizal because he even sacrifice his very own life, his loved ones, and he awakened us Filipinos through his writings regarding the Spanish Era. His works and extraordinary intelligence can never be replaced by any of our other heroes though they have the same goal of making our country free and independent.

For me,it's Jose Rizal.He used a pen not a sword.Much better than violence. It shows that fighting or killing is not the answer but rather think a good way to prevent it and to know the next generation on what happened when the conquerer came to our land.

I would say Jose Rizal..He was a prodigy! He was an intelligent and brave man. He emobodied a strong character. Even though Jose Rizal did not fight through fists or in an aggresive manner like Bonifacio who literally fought the Spaniards, Rizal wrote pamphlets and encouraged fellow Filipinos to stand up against the Spaniards.

DR. JOSE RIZAL should be the Philippine National HERO because the only thing he has is his knowledge and inspiration to defend us during Spanish Era. For me i believed that Jose Rizal deserve because he scarifies his love life and his quite life.He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays and articles rather than through the use of force or aggression.
